X Words - Ep. 9

This Sunday we are on the 9th Word: Honor reputation, out of Exod. 20:16 (“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor”). Truth matters, and it especially matters when called on to testify about others. Because people are made in the image of God, we are charged with safe guarding our neighbor’s reputation. This would extend to gossip, slander, libel, etc., and contrasts with the NT admonition that our speech should be the kind that builds up rather than tears down. How much does our world need this word right now??
